Modern Vintage Girl
Hello pretty girls! I hope you all are taking advantage of your last days of summer, I sure am! Here is a quick casual, afternoon summer outfit of the day. I love to take vintage pieces and make them modern. What is the vintage piece I'm wearing you might ask? Exactly, if you can't tell I have succeeded ;-)! It is the floral top! I found this gem in my mother's closet, from ages ago. Isn't it stunning? The key to modernize this top was to remove the over-sized shoulder pads and roll up the long sleeves. Voila, easy and chic! So scavenge your family's closet, you will never know what treasures you will find! ♥ Laura

Feeling like an Indian Princess for a Day
Hello pretty girls,
I am very excited to share this outfit with you all today. I attended my first Indian/Mexican fusion wedding last weekend. It was so much fun! I bought my first " Indian outfit", which was an experience in itself. If you all haven't been to a Indian/Pakistani boutique, you should. The outfits and accessories are breathtaking and colorful. Warning: You will get overwhelmed! Thankfully there is a lot of help! I do have some tips to share so I'll save them to the end for those of you who are interested. The outfit I am wearing is a ANARKALI SALWAR. There are so many different styles of ethnic outfits. While on my search, I determined that I really liked this beautiful teal color and wanted elegant beading in the front, but not excessive. That made my search a lot easier and surprisingly, was able to find my perfect dress after 5 stores and in about 2 hours! That is pretty amazing, mainly for an experience I had never encountered before.
Now for all of you that are interested, here are some shopping tips that I learned:
1. ALWAYS negotiate prices. I was told that these boutiques raise the prices because the customers always negotiate, and will never pay the full price.
2. Have a budget in mind because you can easily pay more than what you expected. You can even let the sales people know your range so they will show you outfits in your budget.
3. Do not go alone, take a friend to make the choosing process easier. I mean, we all need a second opinion and the sales people will only tell you how good you look, even if you don't (yeah it happened to me haha, thankfully I had someone with me ;-) ).
4. Another tip is to have something already in mind. There is a rainbow of colors and styles, so if you don't have a slight idea of what you want, you will get dizzy in confusion. (I literally started getting a headache, until I determined characteristics I liked).
5. Determine your size because styles are "one of a kind". Once you know your size you can quickly find styles in your size and not look through all the others, and possibly find something you like, without it fitting. Ahhh the nightmare!
6. With that being said, they do alterations, mainly free! So if an outfit is a little tight, or too big, it can possibly be altered for you!
I hope I could help a little and you all enjoyed a differently styled outfit post! Don't be afraid to try something different and out of your comfort zone. That goes for everything. ♥ Laura

Styling Challenge: The Ankle Pant
Hello pretty girls! This is the first blog post of a styling series I'm introducing with my sister, Norma. We are going to style the same trend pieces our way. We both have distinct styles and body types, so it will be interesting to see what we come up with. I want to provide variety for you all because we are not all the same size. My personal mission is to inspire all of you to love yourself the way you are, because we are all beautiful and special. I want to talk more about this in a future blog post because I have a lot in mind! So watch out for that.
Meanwhile, in this post Norma and I styled one of the biggest summer trends, "The Ankle Pant". We styled them casually for a comfortable and eventful day. Norma's style is usually more simplistic than mine, but likes to showcase unexpected elements to her outfit. Here she accessorized her outfit with 2 thin belts, one turquoise and the other purple. It's the perfect touch to add interest and variety of color to a neutral grey pant. (Isn't she adorable!) In the other hand, I decided to go bold by pairing a vintage floral top with an already bright pair of pants. Also, I though it would be a cohesive touch to add a floral statement necklace in gold to neutralize all the colors on the shirt. I hope you all enjoyed this first of many other fashion pairings we will tackle.

What Norma wore:
Ankle pants- New York & Company
Lace trim neon pink tee- H&M
Sandals- Old Navy
Belts- Old Navy
What I wore:

Gold floral necklace and earrings- Charming Charlie
Sunglasses- Dockers
Neutral wedges- Impo

DIY: Shorts
Hello crafty girls! I hope you all are having an amazing and fun summer. It is excruciatingly hot here in Texas, so I realized I needed more shorts. While cleaning out my closet I found this pair of pants that I hadn't worn in a very long time, and my mind wondered with possibilities. Stripped shorts are pretty trendy right now, so I thought these pants would be perfect to attempt turning them into shorts. Also, I would save money and up-cycle a perfectly good pair of pants I no longer wore. That's a win-win! So long story short, my transformation was a complete success and it was very easy. If you are interested in creating your own shorts, watch the video below. I hope this inspires you to bring new life into your old clothing pieces! ♥ Laura

Bad to the Bronze
I've been so in love with this cream shadow, I just had to share. The color tattoo in Bad to the Bronze by Maybelline is my "go to" eyeshadow. It doesn't crease or rub off, which is perfect for the summer heat. You can build it up for a nighttime look and the shimmer is luminous. You will look like you tried a little harder on your makeup, although all you did was rub the shadow with your finger onto your eyelid! That's a huge plus for me. Because I liked this color so much, I bought a white shimmery one in Too Cool, but it does not compare. For some reason it creases and it applies a little blotchy (boooo). There are several other colors that I haven't tried yet but who knows, maybe they are just as good as this gorgeous bronze color. If you try them out let me know what you think. Have an amazing summer!

This restaurant was unexpectedly delicious, I highly recommend it if you are desiring to try something new.

Summer Fun with Special Guests!
Hello crafty girls!
Summer is finally here! I am excited about it, but I do have a love/hate relationship with it. I love the flowers booming and the fun outdoor activities, but I also strongly dislike the heat! As you can tell by my pale skin color, the sun is not my friend! Nonetheless, the break we get in the summertime is amazing, so that makes up for it! To initiate summer, I have some special guests. Who are the lovely ladies here you might ask? Well, I want to introduce to you all my sister and friend. I know you are probably figuring out which one is which, but you will be surprised! My sister, Norma, is the beautiful brunette in the purple dress. So now it brings me to my awesome friend Madeline. She has her own blog now (yeyyy), so you all can check her out to view her amazing bohemian style!

It has been a long time since I have blogged or made a YouTube video and I have definitely missed it. Now that it is summer, I want to revamp my blog and YouTube. I have a lot of fashion ideas, so I hope you all like it! Have a fashionable summer pretty girls ♥
