Fall Beauty Trend: Gold and Red

Now that it is finally starting to feel like fall, inspirations for this season are starting to emerge, not only in fashion but in makeup as well. The fall runway shows gave us an insider look on what trends to expect. The looks were very festive and bold. The dominant trends in the runway were gold! The models for Jason Wu, Donna Karen, Rodarte, J. Mendel, and BCBG Max Azria sparkled down the runway with vibrant gold eye. Another dominant trend was a bold red/burgundy lip. Designers like Carolina Herrerra, Peter Som, and Diane von Furstenberg were a few that showed off the bold lip trend. Many of you think that you cannot wear those looks but you can! Gold looks beautiful on every skin tone and a bold lip as well. The trick is finding the shade that works for you. On the video below I’m taking those daring looks from the runway, and transforming them into every day makeup looks. I have created two different looks using both trends that are very wearable and beautiful; a simple look for day and a smoky look for night and the holidays. Try it out, take a risk, and go bold!

Lovely in Red: Emmy's 2011 Fashion Winners

Who says you can’t wear red to a red carpet? These ladies surely didn’t, and not only did they stand out but rocked it! After watching the Emmy’s fashion last night, I just had to talk about them because they dominated the carpet! They were definitely the best of the night.  (In order from left to right) Lea Michele stunned in a rose sleeved and back baring Marchesa gown. Kate Winslet showed her sexy side in a form fitting Elie Saab gown. Sofia Vergara accentuated her envious curves with a one shoulder  Vera Wang gown that fit her to perfection. Kerry Washington was perhaps my favorite sporting a breathtaking fitted Zuhair Murad design with a sheer fringe looking design on the skirt.  Lastly, Nina Dobrev looked amazing in a strapless fitted mermaid origami designed gown from Donna Karan. This is how to rock the runway!
