Bad to the Bronze

Hello beauties!

I've been so in love with this cream shadow, I just had to share. The color tattoo in Bad to the Bronze by Maybelline is my "go to" eyeshadow. It doesn't crease or rub off, which is perfect for the summer heat. You can build it up for a nighttime look and the shimmer is luminous. You will look like you tried a little harder on your makeup, although all you did was rub the shadow with your finger onto your eyelid! That's a huge plus for me. Because I liked this color so much, I bought a white shimmery one in Too Cool, but it does not compare. For some reason it creases and it applies a little blotchy (boooo). There are several other colors that I haven't tried yet but who knows, maybe they are just as good as this gorgeous bronze color. If you try them out let me know what you think. Have an amazing summer!

Nail of the Month: Glittery Accents

Hello crafty girls! These are the styles I rocked June and July. Believe it or not this is my first time joining the "accent nail" trend. The idea of having different nail went against my symmetrical law of nature! But I finally crossed over to the dark side and loved it (Haha!) I see a whole new world of nail designs now! I can't wait to keep experimenting and start doing more nail tutorials!

April Nail of the Month: Animal Instincts

Hands down (pun intended  ha!) I had to give the Nail of the Month mention to my lovely little sister! Are these just not the cutest!?! It is a girly and colorful interpretation of a zebra print in red and hot pink! She used the stamping nail art kit (yes yet again). What can I say, it is our new little obsession. But why spend a lot of money on a salon manicure while you can make gorgeous, salon quality designs at home, and fast! But I promise the nail of the month for May (which is what I am rocking right now) is more simple and without the stamping nail art kit. So I hope our designs serve as inspiration for you to have some fun with your nails, because they are also a great accessory! Happy crafting :-)

February Nail of the Month: Sexy Lace

Instead of going CUTESY and LITERAL with hearts everywhere, I chose a sexy little number in LACE ;-). Don't forget to be creative and have fun with your nail designs! I created this look using my beloved Stamping Nail Art kit!

DIY Manicure Using Stamping Nail Art!

I bought this new AWESOME "thing" for making super easy and fast mani/pedi designs. It's so amazing I had to share it all with you! I actually saw an infomercial for this and searched online. I was skeptical with the idea of "stamping" designs onto your nail, but it works like a charm! I actually bought my supplies on eBay and they were fairly inexpensive! If you are interested here is the name of the seller that I got my supplies from, which I am recommending because it is excellent quality and arrived fast!(Seller: xxkaraxx) The best thing is that you can use your own nail polish! You can buy everything separately if it's cheaper (like I did). So shop around! If you are buying everything separately make sure you get ALL these supplies, which are the stamping nail art plates and the stamping nail art stamper and scraper(sold together).
So check out the instructional video I made to see what my hype is all about (haha).

To answer my tip on applying clear nail polish over the design, make sure you wait a while, like a few hours. If you can apply it the next day, even better!

This manicure "miracle" has inspired me to start a "nail design of the month" segments coming up!Yeyy!

DIY: Hair Bun Maker + Short Hair Tutorial

Just because [we] have short hair, doesn't mean we can't rock a cute up-do, whether it's messy or slick and polished. Sure, we will need an extra amount of bobby pins in our hair but nonetheless, trust me an up-do is possible and easy! I've wanted to make this blog post for a while now for all my short hair ladies out there wanting to create an up-do, but thought it impossible, before now! What better time than around Valentine's Day, Prom, Wedding, and Graduation season!

For the bun maker all you need is a pair of tights OR socks (if they match your hair color even better), and scissor. That's it!

Now all you do is cut the foot of the tights/sock and start rolling it from that cut edge and just keep rolling until you finish! You will get a do-nut shape like this (below). Make sure the elastic is at the end because it will hold your bun together!

Now I couldn't show how to make a bun maker and not show how to actually use it and style your hair. So check out the video below for my bun making instructions in action and hair tutorial. So short hair ladies, you too can rock your hair in infinite ways! Love your hair, and happy crafting ♥

Thanksgiving Leftovers....For Your Face?

Yes you read the title correctly! I'm going to show you a new unconventional recipe using thanksgiving leftovers that will make your skin glow with radiance. It's a Pumpkin and Spice scrub. This recipe is so fast and easy to make, it smells so delicious, and most importantly it makes your skin feel soft and fresh!

First you have to wash your face with very warm water.

Then for the scrub you need the following ingredients:
1/2 cup cooked or canned pumpkin, pureed
          1/2 cup brown sugar
          1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

All you do now is blend all ingredients in a bowl.

Now apply the delicious mixture to face (and body, if you feel like indulging), and gently scrub your face with a sponge or aloofah.

Lastly, just rinse it off and voilĂ , baby soft skin!

So treat yourself and try it out!  HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Fall Beauty Trend: Gold and Red

Now that it is finally starting to feel like fall, inspirations for this season are starting to emerge, not only in fashion but in makeup as well. The fall runway shows gave us an insider look on what trends to expect. The looks were very festive and bold. The dominant trends in the runway were gold! The models for Jason Wu, Donna Karen, Rodarte, J. Mendel, and BCBG Max Azria sparkled down the runway with vibrant gold eye. Another dominant trend was a bold red/burgundy lip. Designers like Carolina Herrerra, Peter Som, and Diane von Furstenberg were a few that showed off the bold lip trend. Many of you think that you cannot wear those looks but you can! Gold looks beautiful on every skin tone and a bold lip as well. The trick is finding the shade that works for you. On the video below I’m taking those daring looks from the runway, and transforming them into every day makeup looks. I have created two different looks using both trends that are very wearable and beautiful; a simple look for day and a smoky look for night and the holidays. Try it out, take a risk, and go bold!

Halloween Costumes from your Closet: 1950s Inspired

This month of October means Halloween is around the corner! What is exciting about Halloween is that it does not matter the age, dressing up for Halloween is a yearly tradition for many.  I mean who doesn’t like to dress up and play a fun fictional character once a year?! On top of that, you receive free candy?! (Ha) What is cooler than that?! Looking for costumes can be fun as well, and that’s where my craft project for Halloween costume ideas kicks in. I will show you how to find and build your own costume from pieces you already own in your closet! I will also help you with hair, make-up, shoes, and accessories. Altogether, with styling tips I will help you create an awesome characterization that is perfect for Halloween. Best of all it’s FREE! You’d be surprised what you can create with a few pointers.
For this first theme, I got inspired by the 1950’s. The Rock N’ Roll Era (the movie GREASE) is one of the most popular costumes every year! Also the glamorous Old Hollywood was a big signature of the 50’s. The pictures should help you with the key items for the look (with different variations), and the video puts it all together! Hope you get inspired and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
