Modern Vintage Girl

Hello pretty girls! I hope you all are taking advantage of your last days of summer, I sure am! Here is a quick casual, afternoon summer outfit of the day. I love to take vintage pieces and make them modern. What is the vintage piece I'm wearing you might ask? Exactly, if you can't tell I have succeeded ;-)! It is the floral top! I found this gem in my mother's closet, from ages ago. Isn't it stunning? The key to modernize this top was to remove the over-sized shoulder pads and roll up the long sleeves. Voila, easy and chic! So scavenge your family's closet, you will never know what treasures you will find! ♥ Laura

My Mother's Day Outfit!

Hello crafty girls! I hope you all had an amazing mother's day, as a mother or daughter, or both!! I'm fortunate to have the best mother ever! She had an amazing Mother's day full of fun and love! This was my outfit for a nice but casual day of shopping and dining! A jean jacket is a great way to take a formal dress from night to day. To finish the look I chose a sandy color cross body bag and wedges and a fun animal print belt. Have fun with fashion, and don't forget that you all are beautiful!

What I wore:

Michele Bohbot Jean Jacket
Enfocus Studio navy ruffled dress
Charlotte Russe animal print belt
Ann Taylor Loft Bracelets
Fossil Watch
Impo wedges (super comfy and inexpensive)

Discount Store Shopping 101

We all want a good sale, but most of us dread going to discount stores like Ross and Marshall’s, and with good reason. These stores are usually an overcrowding mess, with limited supply of items, and the long lines at the cash registers are upsettingly long. Nonetheless, there are a few tips to avoid many discomforts and make your discount shopping experience more tolerable and pleasurable.

·         Never go on a weekend. That’s when the crowds line up. The best time to go is on weekdays, and if you can, be an early bird and go in the mornings.

·         Don’t hesitate to ask a store associate what day they get shipments in. That’s when you will find the best selection and first picks.

·         Don’t expect to find a particular item, because chances are you will not find it, and you will be greatly disappointed.  Instead go with an open mind and just browse the category of items you are interested in. For example, search for and browse through all of the handbags, instead of trying to find a specific black leather Guess handbag that a friend just bought.

·         Know the store’s discount programs, points cards etc. For example, on Tuesdays Ross gives senior citizens a 10% discount.

Not everything is a good value at discount stores, so you have to be careful. There are very good items though, that are worth the trip to the discount store. Their prices are significantly cheaper than retail stores, and they carry good luxury brands. Some of the best products worth buying are:
·         Handbags
·         Shoes
·         Men’s belts and wallets
·         Bathroom accessories
·         Sunglasses

So hopefully all of these tips give you all the tools to have the best discount shopping experience, so start shopping and saving!
